Lady Gaga’s Duet With Tony Bennett Released

September 15, 2011 by Gagaism.org

Lady Gaga is a tramp in her new duet with Tony Bennett.

‘The Lady is a Tramp,’ the opening track on Bennett’s upcoming Duets II album, was released on YouTube today, and early reviews are overwhelmingly positive. Here’s a small sampling of the praise Gaga and Bennett are receiving.

  • Idolator’s Becky Bain gave Gaga great praise, writing, “We all know Gaga has no problem belting out a show-stopping number, but damn if we aren’t surprised just how effortless the pop star sounds crooning this classic showtune.”
  • Amanda Dobbins, writing for New York Magazine’s Vulture, was also pleasantly surprised. “[The] Lady has the sassy, slightly show-tune-y voice down cold. It works! Unless Gaga decides to pay tribute to Disney’s Lady and the Tramp with the costuming (we fear dog suits), this collaboration can go in the “success” column.”
  • Even Gawker’s Brian Moylan, who has had a long history of being not-so-kind to Gaga had to admit, “It’s really good!”

‘The Lady is a Tramp’ will be available for purchase on Tuesday (along with Bennett’s full Duets II album), but in the meantime you can enjoy the song by listening to the stream below.
